Garmin Nuvi 350 Review

Garmin nuvi 350 is a portable gps navigator, traveler’s reference and digital entertainment system in one. It is ideal

for those who travel overseas. it’s got a great, compact form and solid navigation capabilities. The compact garmin nuvi 350 has a strong gps receiver and includes lots of travel-friendly features.

Map is quite accurate as far as I can tell. This program will not be up to the minute. Maps can be purchased if new versions are out, but I guess you should be good for a few years, at least 3-5 depending on the map for your location. Being a skeptic that I am, I would say carry a backup paper maps for really long trips and important not-to-miss engagements. Mappoint 2006 tried to get turn-by-turn directions right, but barely achieved a late-90s level of mediocrity. Bless them for trying, but Mappoint is a kick-ass geodatamining tool.

Garmin nuvi 350 is an extremely powerful gps navigator packed with features. In addition to detailed maps, the nuvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, an mp3 player, a jpeg picture viewer, a world travel clock, a currency converter and more. Travelers can use the nuvi to navigate to an address or search points of interests like hotels, restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions.

Garmin nuvi 350 is an affordably-priced unit, less expensive than the top-of-the-line products. Garmin nuvi 350 is one of the most entertaining and useful portable navigation systems available. Simply calling it a navigation system is a bit misleading, however, as the multifunctional nuvi 350 sports features and abilities that put other portable systems to shame. Its design is simple to understand and its very easy to use.

Garmin nuvi 350 is one of the lowest priced units that call out the street names, not just the distances, before turns. Personally, i would not want a unit without this feature and think it is worth the extra dollars to get it. Especially when intersections are close together, estimating distances is difficult. Garmin nuvi 350 is totally for drivers and unexperienced gps users. Very cool unit but designed with driving in-mind.

Its greatest feature is its turn-by-turn voice prompted navigation with its ability to speak the names of upcoming streets. As far as i can tell, it has a 5 hour battery life, which means i can take this with me as i walk. Other features i have yet to use are mp3 playback, audiobook playback, and jpeg picture viewer. It has very bright and easy to read screen - great angles and better glare reduction then similar gps’s.

The only drawback i have come across is that when you are enroute to a location and you want to change a setting, such as volume, or voice or something, once you go to change a setting, there is no way for you to get back to your map, you either have to detour or stop, either way, that is not intuitive. There is no advanced planning type feature. For example if you are going on a trip and want to know how long it will take you to get from your destination airport to the hotel, that information is difficult to get out of the nuvi 350.
