Oregon 300 is a fine choice for anyone looking for a do it all gps device. It has plenty of features and an easy to use interface. Oregon 300 is a good gps unit for boaters too. It is a handheld unit with rapid acquisition of satellites (hotfix excelent). The exterior is clean and pleasantly rubberised. The geocaching gives on road as well as off road directions, seeing all of the description, hints & logs. It is waterproof to ipx7 standards, which mean it can withstand 30 minutes at depths down to a metre underwater, so even torrential rain shouldn’t be a problem.

Oregon 300 is readable in bright sunlight. Its digital elevation maps show you shaded contours at higher zoom levels, giving you a big picture of the surrounding terrain. By Oregon 300 you can share your waypoints, tracks, routes and geocaches wirelessly with other similar units. The garmin oregon 300 has a built-in electronic compass that provides bearinginformation even while you’re standing still, and its barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude.
